What We Believe

The faith we confess, the principles we hold, and the spiritual truths we confirm at National Divine Spiritual Church in Atlanta's Historic Sweet Auburn District.

Our Belief Statement

The faith we confess together.

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Universal Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Principles of Spiritualism

We believe in Christ as our Lord and Savior, and through him we have the gift of life and life more abundantly.

We believe the phenomena of nature, both physical and spiritual, are the expression of infinite intelligence.

We affirm that the existence and personal identity of the individual continues after the change called death.

We affirm that communication with the so-called dead is a fact, scientifically proven by the phenomena of Spiritualism.

We believe that the highest morality is contained in the Golden Rule: “Whatsoever ye would that others should do unto you, ye also unto them.”

We affirm the moral responsibility of the individual and that he makes his own happiness or unhappiness as he obeys or disobeys nature's physical and spiritual laws.

We affirm that the Precepts of Prophecy contained in the Bible are a divine attribute through mediumship.

Truths we confirm.

We confirm the Biblical fact that: God is a spirit and they that worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth.

We confirm the fact that God is Love and all that we do and say should be done in Love, this being our strength and power.

We confirm the fact that the change called death is only a gateway to life, that Spirit was never born and therefore can never die.
